"Kimono doorway"
Zero-waste clothing tutorials eBook

“Kimono doorway” capsule collection by Elena Ryleeva, ESWT fashionlab founder, clothing designer, educator and investigator in the field of minimal-waste cutting practices.

Kimono Doorway collection is a selection of various garments to form a summer wardrobe. The main feature of this collection is that it is constructed with minimal or practically no fabric waste. The geometry and simplicity of construction (straight-line-cut) and its elements refers to Kimono, Japanese traditional clothing. The collection name symbolically expresses the idea of entering the field of exploring the traditional kimono cut and development of this cut into contemporary clothing.
The minimalist monochromatic wardrobe offers seven garments - elegant timeless designs that fit to women of various ages and body types. The collection was designed, cut and manufactured entirely by the designer. Despite the fact that the clothing items were produced in 2015 they look up-to-date and stylish nowadays.
The tutorials for each garment manufacturing were available for purchase ever since, however it has been decided to collate the whole series in one book so that our customer can produce and add not only one or two garments to the summer closet but a whole set of ‘conscious’ wear.
