Galliano jacket with collar scarf 

For autemn/winter-1989 collection while working for Dior John Galliano created several tweed jackets. One of them we find very interesting - in terms of a specific approach to creating a collar-scarf which is cut from a single piece together with front panel and also in terms of wisely and beautifully cutting 3-piece kimono sleeve. For references we use good resolution photographs posted by https://www.instagram.com/parisian_sweet_/.

Several pictures of original jacket taken by @parisian_sweet_ in his studio are well presenting the jacket from various sides, however some parts remain closed and Elena has to hypothesize on the closure and some minor elements. Two versions of the collar scarf were exercised and shown, both legitimate, however we incline to think that version 2 was actually the original Galliano's.

Project development

 

The project was naturally extended as Elena discovered other ways to use Galliano approach to cutting the collar, thus, as a consequence we added Tube collar and Puff collar - the creative  development of the project.
